A few weeks ago I tried to capture the harvest moon. It is a full moon that appears to be huge because of the angle at that time of year. The dust in the air makes it an orange color. I have seen better but this is this year's attempt.
When you first attempt to see it you have to wait until the sun is past the horizon then watch carefully or you will miss it.
As the sun sets and it climbs in the sky the colors change.
Finally it looks like most moons as it gets higher.
I never knew this could happen until I moved from the city by the coast to the wide open prairie. It is truely amazing.
