Simple Things Sunday #108 - Thanksgiving

The Princess and her court.
This past week the Princess held her court for the Thanksgiving feast. She welcomed a new baby cousin from a far away kingdom. She is grateful to be able to meet this other little princess and her parents.
and amazed by her.
She and her brother (the Prince) took us to their magical forest so we could take some pictures.

The Princess and her favorite lady in waiting.
Four of her loyal knights!
And only half of the whole court.

Simple Things Sunday #107 - The Princess and the Possom

Texas becons, so I left the snow and went to see my grand kids!!! Sigh While in Texas a new story was written.

The story of the Princess and the Possum

One day the Princess was out helping her Dad polish the Jeep.
Her mom went to throw something in the garbage and saw it move. Well, there was a possum in the garbage. He immediately played dead knowing he had been found.
The King, Dad, let him out of the garbage can . . .
well of course he ran away! He made a clean get away even though the King (Dad) was in hot pursuit.
What else could you do?

Simple Things Sunday #106

Last week I said that the week was full with halloween and something else. The something else was preparing for a baby blessing. A special little girl, Thalia Rylie, came into our family six weeks ago. A week ago today she was given a blessing by her maternal Grandfather, Michael Saunders. but first he had to hold her while her mom got dressed. This is Grandpa enjoying a little Thalia time.
Once mom was dressed it was time to get Thalia ready and here she is laying on the baby shawl that Great Grandma Alice Saunders crocheted.
The happy family are finally ready to go.
She was blessed in the Coaldale Ward church on 4 Nov 2012. Among those who came was her Great Grandmother, Alice Laurie Saunders, her two sets of Grandparents, a great aunt, many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is truely loved.

Great Grandma Alice got to hold her for the first time because she has been sick. She loved it and did her usual magic by rocking her to sleep during church. Here she is after church at Adam and Victoria's home.
Later her grandparents, Steve and Cindy Kapcsos, were found marveling at their tiny, beautiful, miracle grandaughter.
There is a story the Grandma Cindy Kapcsos says needs to be told. That is the making of Thalia's blessing dress. It all started by her mom and Grandma talking and planning what it should be. Grandma April Saunders did the sewing but with lots of imput from her mom. Aunt Alyson and Great Grandma Alice were asked for sewing advice and a Skpye visit from Aunt Natalie helped guide and answer questions so that the dress could be finished. All in all it was a group effort. Victoria made the headband and Grandma April made the flower and the little bracelet. What an adventure making her outfit. One thing that is interesting to note is that Deb Hardin, Aunt Natalie's mother-in-law, made a similar dress for Hadley Hardin. Aunt Allyson Cichy made a similar dress for Lucy Cichy, Dave and Ashley's Daughter. It has become a family creative trend.
In honor of Rememberance day it is interesting to add that this little girl's Great, Great Grandfather Laurie fought in World War I. We remember his sacrafice today. Sorry, there was no scenery of our city. This is a more personal post than most of a special time that was focused on a beautiful little girl and her family.

Simple Things Sunday #105

This has been a happening week! Halloween, need I say more. Well there is more in my week but that will be a suprise for later.
First of all, we carved a pumpkin with the little boys. Halloween wasn't great for photos of their costume.
Someone was too tired to cooperate so my only pictures are these pre-halloween photos. However, the weather was so cold that we had to stay indoors. Snow, rain and ice made Halloween a treacherous event. So instead of showing you around the neighborhood we brought fall inside.
