Summer Colours Week hosted by Poppytalk

Today's Summer Colours Week features blue.

Blue scarfs on a summer sidewalk sale in Melrose, Scotland.

My eye is drawn to the sky in this picture. The beautiful blue with the exciting cloud drama keeps it focused on the blue.

Summer Colours Week - Rainbow

Its day four of the Summer Colours Week and they are featuring rainbows. I still know know how to add to their site so I am doing this just for fun. I hope someone is enjoying it.

A prairie double rainbow.

Summer Colours Week - Pink Cloud Sunset

Wow, toninght when we were coming home, facing the east, we saw these beautiful clouds. I just had to take a picture. They were stunning against the darkening night.
I didn't know about Summer Colours Week until Wednesday so I am back dating these color photos. I can't add them to flickr until tomorrow. Something about resetting my account.

Another Monster Quilt - June 2011

I have another Monster panel so Grandma and I put together a second quilt. Here we are laying out the pieces to make sure they are in just the right position. Next Grandma sewed the strips together and voila! Here are the two finished tops.

Photographic Challenge #36 - Out of Focus

Our challenge this week from Melissa and Kristi was to take a picture out of focus. I have never purposely taken a picture totally out of focus so this was a challenge. I finally figured it out . . . :)

Dreaming of Daisies

It was fun. Thanks for the challenge and for helping us stretch our abilities!

Photography Challenge #35 - Lines

This weeks challenge from Kristi and Melissa was about lines. When I was looking for a place to take a picture all I wanted to find was something that expressed, "Wow! look at those lines." I couldn't find it in my area so I remembered a photo I took last summer that really inspired me that way. Look at the detail in the drawings and how it goes with the structure.

Lines can be structural as well as decorative. They can express function, movement or in this case, belief. Lines guide our lives just as a fence says this is a boundary or the lines on a road tell us what is expected. The lines in architecture tell us other aspects of our lives. They can be there simply to admire, inspire or direct us to a higher purpose. Lines can tell such intriguing stories.

Thanks for helping us stretch and think with these challenges.
