Natalie, this is the material choices for Thalia's blessing dress.
I laid the slip bodice pattern overtop of the dress bodice.
I have some questions on how to alter this. The dress is too big for her.

Thalie in Natalie's dress and in Girl's blessing dress

We had fun dressing up Thalia. I have a box of three dresses and the blessing outfits from all of you when you were babies.
This is Thalia in the first baby dress I ever made. It was for Natalie. I think I made it to see if the pattern fit for her blessing dress which is in the picture below. We used this same dress for all of you girls.

Dresses for Bela

Superstore has these dresses. This navy blue is a size 8 to get it to be 25" long
This pink one is a size 6-7 and is 25 1/2" long.
This is a burgundy knit dress in a size 8 at 26" long. This was the only size available

Simple Things Sunday #104

Happy 2nd Year Anniversary to Rebecca for the Simple Things Sunday Linky Party. Wow, That is an accomplishment.

This week it I decided to share my photos of the sunset on the prairie. The light does interesting things when it is at that angle. I hope you enjoy them.
There is prairie grass of many styles that grows in the ditches.
Individual grasses are beautiful and graceful. Nature is wonderful. We are so blessed to be able to view and enjoy God's creations.
As a whole they are still beautiful.
Taken in Southern Alberta with unknown exposures. It was on Manual but I don't know enough about it yet. When they work they are truely a suprise to me. Sorry, still learning.

Simple Things Sunday #102

A few weeks ago I tried to capture the harvest moon. It is a full moon that appears to be huge because of the angle at that time of year. The dust in the air makes it an orange color. I have seen better but this is this year's attempt.
When you first attempt to see it you have to wait until the sun is past the horizon then watch carefully or you will miss it.

As the sun sets and it climbs in the sky the colors change.
Finally it looks like most moons as it gets higher.
I never knew this could happen until I moved from the city by the coast to the wide open prairie. It is truely amazing.

Simple Things Sunday #101

A few weeks ago Rebecca asked us what we wanted to capture this fall. My answer was kids in the pumpkin patch. Well, my dream came true. This Saturday there was a Pumpkin Festival nearby. We got to go and wander the pumpkin farm, have a hay ride, shoot pumpkins from a cannon thing, run a maze, and choose a pumpkin.

Simple Things Sunday #100

Harvest can be a very special time with many wonderful images. I was looking for a harvest moon. I missed it but did find this great old farm at dusk. This is what I saw coming up to the farm.
Congratulations on 100 Sundays. That's awesome. For those from Sunday in My City. This was taken on the prairie of Southern Alberta about an hour away from my home. It is very rural. Sorry, no city scape available here.

Simple Things Sunday #98

Woohoo. I have the most exciting photo to my family this week. It is normally a simple thing, an important thing, a great blessing, a miracle and occaisionally a great miracle. That is what we have this week . . . an amazing miracle happened on friday!
She has arrived against all odds. If the whole story were told you would have to be reading all day but the short of it is that after 4 other miscarriages this little girl made it. We are familiar with the miracle of adoption since that has also happend in our family and thought that was the only option but then this little one made the journey. WE are soooooooo thrilled and grateful. It has taken great faith, many prayers and the blessings of a loving Heavenly Father to get to this point. Gratitude can not adequately be expressed for this little miracle child. Thank you all who have helped!!!

The Simple Things Sunday 97

This week's entry is a green rose. The touch of red is supposed to be the on the transport petals. I'm not sure what that means but they were beautiful anyway however they never opened. The ivory ones were beautiful and full. Mystery
