The Simple Things Sunday - things that make me smile

This week we are to put up "things" that makes us smile. People are way better than things in this cattegory.
This is what happens when you try to capture a moving target! This boy can really crawl. He learned in one week.

Simple Things Sunday

It's Simple Things Sunday time again. Wow the weeks go by fast. This week Rebecca has asked us to post pictures of things that make us smile. Flowers make me smile. This year it is raining too much to get these planted, so they wait.

The Simple Things Sunday

Here is my simple things challenge as hosted by Rebecca Cooper of Simple as That. Thanks Rebecca for encouraging us to take time to capture the little moments in life!

My grandson wanted to make cookies today. Here he is learning how to use the cookie scoop. He had fun putting them on the cookie sheet with a hard squeezing job and a plop. He loved it!

A little shake but he needs to squeeze harder.
Finally!!!

The cookie sheet is finally filled. After a hard job of coordinating his hands to squeeze!

The final result and lots of yums from those not in the kitchen!
Sorry about the quality of the photos . . . they were taken on my iphone since my real camera was elsewhere for the moment. I had a learning curve to get them from the phone, to the computer, and then find where they downloaded etc.
I have to tell you all out there that your posts make me smile! Thank you for sharing your simple things with us all.

The Simple Things Sunday - Mother's Day

I couldn't think of a simple thing this week until I remembered that 33 years ago I had a baby on Sunday, Mother's day. The same date as today. I wonder how many times that happens that your birthday falls on the day you were born. Here he is.
Well, we were playing with our newest grandson today and look what I discovered. The simplest thing . . . the hair! A trend in the family.    Happy Mother's Day you all!!!
Yesterday we were able to take Grandma to Lunch for Mother's day. Here are our four, or rather 3 and 1/2 generations of Mothers. Victoria's little girl is still to come.
Dad made us dessert today.
Except for my little helper who helped me make the Whipping Cream.

The Simple Things Sunday

This week we discovered a simple reaction to Skype. Our daughter was Skyping to her husband who is away for the summer. Her husband was trying to talk to the puppies. One could see and hear him. She was so cute tilting her head almost vertically while listening to his voice. Unfortunately the other one hears his voice but can't find him. It is very cute watching the little one tilt her head this way and that to listen to his voice as if she were having a great conversation. He laughs and loves it so we well entertained.

Simple Things Sunday

This week's simple thing is the dozen red roses that my husband gave me for my birthday. It is one of those milestone birthdays. You'll just have to guess which one because I'm not telling. Anyway it is rare for him to give me roses so this was so sweet.

The photo was taken with a 50mm fixed lens.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Fragrant
The sent of a rose is so wonderful.
(For Snapshot Sunday: This photo was taken with a 50mm fixed lens and no post editing. Not because I wouldn't want to but because I don't know how yet.)
New
These new little baby ducks are being watched over by their parents. I don't know how old they are however.

Life
The live of a butter fly is an amazing story all on it's own.

Pink
This little girl is a pink addict but not always a girly girl.

Obvious
It's obvious that she loves her grandpa!
Thanks for challenging us all to be creative and learn more about photography.

Easter fun

The Simple Things is hosted by Rebecca Cooper. This sunday it is about Easter. One of my favorite parts of Easter is to dye eggs. I guess it is because I love color!

Here are the colors we made from Wilton dyes:

And the results

My children are all grown but they still love to help dye eggs so here is my lovely assistant, my daughter.

We also had to try making some cute easter cookies we saw on Pinterest.

While our creative efforts were fun there is a whole other realm to the real meaning of Easter. It is far more important for us and we hope you are touched by it as we are.

The Simple Things Sunday

Thanks to Simple as That we have another Simple Things Sunday. This is Conference Sunday. We have a three year old and a six month old grandsons. WE wanted to be able to enjoy Conference and soak in the messages so we made a Conference pack for our older grandson. He loved it!!! Each lunch bag contained an activity and maybe a treat. His aunt helped him color, play games and find treats while we watched Conference and she listened as well. He was well entertained through the morning meeting. During the second meeting he was able to play with all the things he had discovered in the first meething. Thank you to all the pinners who put up ideas on Pinterest. We enjoyed finding activities adjusted to his age.

Later he jumped rope and his little brother found that very entertaining!!!

Pure Joy!
